The Dettling Kirsch cherry brandies are renowned throughout the world and you can visit the distillery which was established by Franz-Xaver Dettling in Brunnen in 1867. Dettling discovered that the black mountain cherries grown in central Switzerland produce a highly aromatic brandy when gently distilled. You can find out more about the cherries, the brandy and the distilling process and, of course, taste the end product, on a guided tour which takes about 30 minutes. Other products include Kirsch vinegar and Kirsch chocolate and there is a shop where you can purchase the famous brandy and other gifts.
