The ‘Engelberg Monastery Bell’ cheese is well known and you can visit the factory, the only one in a monastery in Switzerland. Watch and learn how cheese is made by hand, whilst enjoying the factory specialities, production is non-stop from 11am to 4 pm, using four tanks of milk for processing. Some types of cheese are ready to be eaten immediately, while others must ripen for two years, or even more. In the factory bistro you can enjoy one of the cheese menus or a dessert and the shop sells a selection of regional products and other souvenirs.
