The Centre for Contemporary Images is a place of production, encounter and archiving for contemporary art. It houses the Swiss archives of video creation, pursuing a systematic policy of acquisition, restoration and conservation and owns some unique collections of the complete works of internationally recognised video artists such as Bill Viola and Gary Hill. The video collection is one of the best endowed in Europe. Temporary exhibitions are staged several times a year, as well as the Biennial of Moving Images and the Biennial of New media. There are also regular publications, meetings and workshops with the artists.
