The 13th century Romanesque church of Jaun (called Belleregarde in French) is located approximately 21 km east of Gruyeres, just before the mountain pass. It houses the Cantorama or House of Song of the Fribourg Canton. At one stage in danger of demolition, the church was restored to become the guardian of the historical and rich cultural heritage of choral and popular music in the canton. There are manuscripts, musical scores, portraits of musicians, an audio visual show and over 180 choral recordings. A number of concerts are held, particularly over the Easter and Christmas periods.
