Canovasee, known locally by its Romansh name Lag or Leg da Canova, is a lake in an attractive countryside location, approximately 20 km southwest of Chur. The film ‘First Love, Last Rites’ was made here in 2004 and the lake is 777 metres above sea level with superb views of the Heinzenberg to the south. The lake bathing area is open from early May until at least the end of August. There are grassed areas suitable for both sunbathing and picnics and facilities include a kiosk, changing cubicles, showers and toilets.
