Located at Broc-Fabrique, approximately 4.5 km northeast of Gruyères, is the Cailler Chocolate factory, a sheer delight for chocolate lovers. Cailler, one of Switzerland’s oldest and most traditional brands of chocolate, was first made in 1819. The first factory in Broc opened in 1898. The interactive guided tour, explains how chocolate is made, with particular reference to the Cailler brand and the factory history and development. Appetites totally whetted, the tour ends with a tasting of the products. These can be bought in the shop inside the factory or the full range of products at the nearby Nestlé factory shop.
