The Freibad Bottenwil Schäfern is located in rural surroundings on the outskirts of the lovely village of Bottenwil, about 15.5 km south of Aarau. The complex offers open-air bathing under lifeguard supervision and the swimmers’ pool is complemented by a non-swimmers’ pool and a children’s paddling pool. Other features include a waterslide, one-metre diving board, children’s playground, beach volleyball court, plenty of grassed areas with shade suitable for both sunbathing and picnics and a games area for Frisbee, badminton and other sports. Facilities provided include parking, changing cubicles, showers and toilets. There is a snack bar which has a midday menu.
