The attractive church of Bottens is of neo-gothic style and was designed by the architects, Henri Perregaux and Achille de la Harpe. Built on the initiative of Placide Longchamp, priest of Bottens from 1826 to 1888, the construction took four years to complete, from 1843 to 1847. Of the many delights worth viewing, the stained glass windows of the chancel stand out particularly. They are the work of the master glassblower, Thévoz, and represent the lives of St. Nicolas de Flüe, St. François d’Assise and St. Antoine l’Ermite.
