An unusual attraction, the Bison Ranch is in an idyllic setting surrounded by forest located at Les Prés d’Orvin, some 14 km west of Biel. In a time of agricultural recession in 1992, the Lecomte family decided to diversify and imported their first five buffaloes from South Dakota and at the same time opened their auberge. The herd has grown over time and now numbers some 70. You can learn all about this species which according to the 16th century explorers numbered an estimated 60 million in the new world. Other attractions include a mechanical rodeo and a nearby adventure park.
