Bellelay is located some 24 km southwest of Delémont and, if you are going to the abbey and its church (see separate entries), this visit could include the Agricultural Museum. Prior arrangement is required with Promotion Bellelay SA (Mr Jean-Pierre Graber). The museum is located in a 1766 farm building, restored in 2000/01, which houses a collection of farm machinery and covers the development of farming techniques in the area from the 19th century to the 1960s. The visit also covers the creation of a local nature reserve and the history of the ‘Freiberger’, the only Swiss breed of horses.
