The Ascona Golf Club, founded in March 1928, is an 18-hole, par 71 course measuring 5,933 metres. Designed by CK Cotton, the course, which started life as a nine-hole facility, is situated five kilometres west of Locarno. Great care was taken over development and improvement of the course and, in 1999, it was voted the "Best Golf Course in Switzerland". The Club House is Mediterranean in style. Facilities include a pro shop, driving range, pitching green, putting green and restaurant. Golf lessons are available.
