The Art and History Museum is the largest museum in Geneva. Built between 1903 and 1910, the exhibits cover western culture, from its origins to the present days. The Archaeology wing has artefacts from ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome. The Fine Arts wing houses 400 paintings ranging from the Renaissance onward, including works by Van Gogh and Renoir. There are also sculptures by artists such as Houdon, Pradier, Rodin, Arp, Giacometti and Tinguely. Finally, the Applied Arts wing features furniture, weapons and other articles of daily life from the Middle Ages through to the present day.
