Amden offers not only winter sports (see separate entry) but also ideal summer hiking, rambling and other activities. There are more than 110 km of marked footpaths, varying from the easy along the shores of Lake Walen, to the ascent of Speer at 1,950 metres above sea level. Routes start from Amden Village, Weesen (420 metres), Arvenbüel (1250 metres) and the chair-lift mountain station (1290 metres). You will find alpine inns, barbeque areas and viewpoints on the way. Other attractions include the Mattlock chair lift, an alpine brunch on the Strichbodenalp, the 8.7 km Amden Ridgeway hike and much more.
