The Amden Museum has a pleasant ambience and gives the visitor an interesting insight into the history and culture of the area and its people, from the earliest settlers in pre-Christian times. The permanent exhibition has a particularly interesting section devoted to geology, including the fascinating fissure springs, the mountain structure, the rock fall of 1974 and the huge chalk system. The museum is open on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons, but groups can visit at other times by arrangement.
