The Freibad Heidelberg is situated in Aadorf, approximately 8 km south of Frauenfeld; it offers open-air bathing under lifeguard supervision. The swimmers’ pool is complemented by a non-swimmers’ pool, a diving pool with one-metre and three-metre platforms and a children’s paddling pool. Other features include various pool accessories, a beach volleyball court, grassed areas with shade suitable for both sunbathing and picnics and games areas for Frisbee badminton, table tennis and other sports. Facilities provided include changing cubicles, lockers, showers and toilets. There are also barbeque facilities and a kiosk.
